PARI project: social inclusion workshops “Social inclusion through religion?”

In November 2022, PARI team members traveled to 4 locations in Sibiu and Vâlcea counties to organize a series of workshops on social inclusion through religion.

During the meetings, we presented the preliminary results of the empirical research conducted during the year and the participatory methods with which we work within the project: the ABCD method (asset-based community development) and the PAR method (participatory action research). We did individual and group games and activities to see how religious community resources, values, beliefs, and human resources can be identified and valued.

We discussed the plans and activities for the coming year and all the participants were excited and expressed their interest to participate in larger numbers in the next meetings.

PARI project: social inclusion workshops in communities

Between March and July 2023, members of the empirical team held a series of workshops with and about participatory methods for co-researchers and members of the communities visited in Sibiu and Vâlcea. Within them, we discussed participatory methods of community development, we presented from empirical research the activities currently carried out by religious actors in these communities, and we discussed ideas for local pilot initiatives.

The basis of the workshops and work methodology was the method “Use your talents/gifts!” (the ABCD method – asset-based community development). The activities and discussions were interactive and carried out according to participatory methods.
