Training Guide

EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES:

Participatory Approaches for the Social Inclusion of Roma through Religion

The guide serves as a starting point, using accessible references, definitions, and tools, to stimulate discussions about the social inclusion of Roma, amplifying the voices of Roma researchers and practitioners. The goal is to encourage dialogue between Roma and non-Roma practitioners regarding the role of religion in addressing the historical challenges of Roma communities, highlighting best practices collected through the PARI project and exploring possibilities for repair, cooperation, empowerment, and justice through participatory approaches.

Network of Religious Actors for Social Inclusion

The network was formed during the project, starting with a small group of members, co-researchers, and researchers from the PARI team, and solidified with the final PARI project conference (March 2024). Gradually, various interlocutors encountered in practice, as well as theorists and researchers, both Roma and non-Roma, Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant, met at national and international conferences attended by team members, joined the network, bringing the total to no fewer than 15 members.
