Stefan Tobler is a professor for Systematic Theology at the Department for History, Patrimony and Protestant Theology at Lucian Blaga University from Sibiu, Romania. Born in Switzerland, he then lived and worked in different countries: Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Romania (where he has lived since 2003). Through this background he developed a special sensibility for intercultural dialogue and for questions of linguistic, ethnic and religious minorities in Europe. He has a special interest for questions of Social Ethics and Human Rights from a theological point of view. A previous research project 2007-2010 named “Human Dignity and Poverty in Romania” brought together an interdisciplinary team. In the PARI project he has the role of Principal Investigator (manager).
Other research interests are spirituality, mystical theology and interreligious dialogue.
